Saints Peter & Paul Church Protocols for Returning to In Person Mass
All Covid-19 positive persons, those who are symptomatic, and those living with them must stay home.
Register to Attend Mass
· We are limiting Mass registrations to 75 for Parishioners of SS Peter and Paul Church during restrictions.
The first 32-50 arrivals will be seated in church with overflow seating in the Hall, where we will live-stream Mass on a big screen and distribute communion.
· A registration link will be emailed weekly. Please share your email via: secretary@sspnp.com.
· Links are also provided in the bulletin, on our website http://www.sspeterandpaulmazeppa.org/ and our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Saints-Peter-Paul-Parish-108203540913655/
· For those without internet access can a family member register for you? If not, call the office no later than Wednesday at 843-3885, leave names of those attending. If reservations are full, we will call you back.
· Those at Risk should consider carefully whether they attend a public celebration of the Mass, or continue to view on-line.
· Bishop Quinn’s dispensation of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains in effect.
· While we cannot offer a 100% safe option to attend Mass, our parish will follow these protocols, reflecting both diocesan and national Catholic guidelines for public Masses.
Prior to Mass
· Arrive early and wait (6-ft spacing) to enter through the West (narthex) doors. Follow instructions from the Ushers who will seat you using one-way traffic patterns. Non-family members must sit 6-feet apart.
· Everyone over the age of 2 is to wear a mask at all times; we have a limited number of disposable masks.
· Use the provided hand sanitizer upon entering. Practice physical distancing at all times.
· Holy water fonts have been emptied; prayer cards and hymnals have been removed.
During Mass
· Our choir will sing an opening song. The congregation will not sing; Mass parts will be spoken.
· Wear your mask and please do not engage in physical touch anytime or during the Sign of Peace.
· Collection baskets will not be passed. Place donations in the baskets near each exit as you leave.
You may continue to give online http://www.sspeterandpaulmazeppa.org/online-giving.html), or by mail.
· Bathroom use is for one person or family at a time. Close door during use, open when available.
· Communion will be distributed after the final Blessing, at the very end of Mass.
Communion and Exiting the Church
· After the Final Blessing, Ushers will direct Parishioners forward in single file to receive Communion
· Please bring and apply your personal hand sanitizer in your pew right before proceeding to Communion.
· Ensure you are wearing a mask. The Eucharistic minister will also be masked.
· Refer to the markings on the floor to maintain 6-foot social distancing as you process.
· All Parishioners will go forward at this time. If you are not receiving the Eucharist cross your arms over your chest and proceed for a blessing or proceed to the North or South exit door.
· For those receiving – approach the Priest/Eucharistic Minister extend your hands towards them. Ensure your hand is flat to minimize the possibility of contact.
They will offer you the Body of Christ and you proclaim, “Amen” as they will place the host in your palm.
· Step 6-feet to the side towards the door you will exit and stand on the red X. Remove your mask from one ear or pull down, consume the host, then replace the mask.
· Continue towards the nearest exit door. Place donations in the baskets and sanitize as you leave.
· Please no congregating at the exits as you leave, always maintain social distance.
